2011 Newport Folk Festival Lineup Announced!

The 2011 Newport Folk Festival lineup has been announced and takes place at Fort Adams in my former hometown of Newport, Rhode Island. Having lived in Newport for most of my life, its kind of strange that I have never actually gone to the folk festival, but that’s mostly because the majority of people who play it never appealed to me. This years lineup is kind of meh, considering they have had better lineups in the past few years (after I moved away, go figure).

The Saturday lineup is obviously the better of the 2 days with Gogol Bordello, Tegan and Sara, What Cheer? Brigade, and the PS22 Chorus (who do some amazing stuff with indie bands).

Sunday brings Elvis Costello and M. Ward, and in my opinion, that’s about it.
